Living To Make A Difference & A Giveaway!

“OUR LIVES BEGIN TO END THE DAY WE BECOME SILENT ABOUT THE THINGS THAT MATTER.”

– MARTIN LUTHER KING JR

The Maker of the Universe could have created anyone.

He made you.

Oh, beloved, you matter so very much.

You were intricately designed and formed and placed.

You, with all your beauty and your quarks, all your strengths and all your weaknesses….all of these perfectly thought-out things that make you, you.

You are an absolute miracle; one with a plan and a purpose (Jeremiah 29:11). This is a truth we take way too lightly and have been deceived into doubting for way too long.

You’ve been given a chance, chosen, to be in this world at this particular time in history, for one, brief life.

God has put people before you to love. The hardest ones to love often need it most.

He’s put experiences before you that have equipped you to help others. The difficult experiences often teach the most.

He’s given you a voice. A chance to do something: to feed, to clothe, to love the least of these. Even a soft voice can echo in the hearts of the voiceless. God can multiply the smallest effort.

WHAT HOLDS US BACK?

Sometimes we feel weighed down by the world; the demands and expectations, the losses and grief, the uncertainties and doubt.

But our mysterious God has made us in this strangely wonderful, complex design that causes us to be filled as we pour out. If we are relying on the Holy Spirit’s power and strength and not our own, as we pour, He fills.

So if our circumstances are not where we’d like them to be, we don’t need to wait until a better day or a better season to do something.

Some of us are trying to become a better person so we can help others but by helping others we become a more fulfilled person.

Today…this world needs our voice, our gifts and our love more than ever.

Your today can make a difference.

Who’s in front of you to love today? Love them well, even if it isn’t easy. Reach out. Walk across the street or the room.

Who is hurting that God has placed on your heart and in your mind? The unborn, the lonely, those on the streets, the oppressed, the hungry, the abused, the orphans? Pray, find a way to be a voice, make a choice to do something.

A cause that weighs heavily on my heart is human trafficking. Eden Ministry is an organization that helps to identify, rescue, and restore victims of trafficking and has rescued over 500 women. The jewelry they sell helps to provide safe shelter, trauma informed care, vocational training and employment to empower each woman that comes through their doors to find their worth, dignity and renewed hope for the future.

And how did it begin?

With two housewives.

Two gals with one evening a week to spare, wanting to address the injustice of human trafficking because they decided to do something.

A GIVEAWAY FOR YOU…

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, I am giving one lucky winner Eden Ministry’s stunning “Committed Necklace.”

The Committed Necklace is a 18K gold-plated stainless steel pendant in which the middle heart is given to a woman during Eden’s outreach in the red-light districts. They hand her the necklace and  tell her that someone in another city or country is wearing the other half of her necklace who values her and is standing up for her freedom.

You are also invited to send a PERSONALIZED MESSAGE OF HOPE to the woman holding the middle heart.

The Eden team will translate your message and give it along with the middle pendant necklace as a gift to a woman they meet on outreach. It is a direct opportunity for you to be a part of a movement bringing freedom to exploited girls and women.

It brings me great joy to share the vision of Eden with you and give you an opportunity to win this beautiful necklace. To learn more about Eden’s impact and check out their other jewelry, visit www.edenministry.org.
