My family frequently hears me exclaim, “My cup overfloweth!” My abundant life is certainly not a perfect life. In fact, there have been many significant losses sprinkled throughout my life. But despite the world making many attempts to drain my cup, it continues to overflow.
I’m so happy you have stumbled unto this page and hope you find your cup begin to fill to overflowing!
Having “an abundant life” does not guarantee you a life without trouble. In fact, Jesus Himself said, “In this world you will have trouble…” Don’t we know it?! We just don’t have to sit and rot in it. The rest of John 16:33 says, “But take heart, I have overcome the world.” The root of the words “take heart” means to exercise bold and confident courage! Woah. When you look around you, how many people are “exercising bold and confident courage?” Who can even do that in the middle of the valleys – loss of a child, infertility, financial uncertainty, cancer, or even the exhaustion of a busy life?
We can as believers in Christ.
Galatians 2:20 gives us license to be different:
“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 NLT
So, as vessels of the Son of God, we can abandon our despairing views of the world and our circumstances and put on BOLD AND CONFIDENT COURAGE that is found in Him.
This is abundant life. Life free of fear and despair. Life overflowing with hope.
Know it. Pray it. Believe it. Live it. Spread it.
Let your cup overflow too!
